Summary
The digitization of media presents an opportunity to understand and enrich our culture by remixing its products. Examining the relationship between media, technology, culture, and democracy through the lens of copyright law, this documentary is a celebration of the cultural products we love and the many ways in which they impact our hearts and minds. Citizen 3.0 employs and explores the fair use exception, and wonders whether this exemption to copyright law will be accepted as the healthy evolution of free expression or will ultimately be rejected as a trespass upon private property. This documentary includes interviews with those on both sides of the copyright equation, and raises intriguing questions about our copyright system and the culture of creation.
