Claire Wihogora emigrated to Canada in 1998, four years after her father, brother and countless other family and friends were killed. The film portrays Claire carrying on with her life today in Toronto, while inevitably haunted by terrible memories of Rwanda. On film she recounts how she and her sister hid in the brush while all around her people were massacred. Nothing can help her forget the hundred days when 800,000 members of the Hutu and Tutsi tribes were slaughtered. Yet she finds comfort in telling her story in schools "to share it to make sure it never happens again." Also, she has founded Women in Rwanda, which links female genocide survivors now living in North America in a support system. The film achieves a fascinating interplay of past and present, as images from Claire's everyday life in Toronto (grey tones) are differentiated from the images of Kigali rendered in color. 001356206 521__ $$aFor College; Adult audiences. 001356206 530__ $$aPreviously released as DVD. 001356206 546__ $$aThis edition in English. 001356206 586__ $$aBlack Maria Film Festival 2006 001356206 586__ $$aSpotlight on Docs, IFP Market, 2005 001356206 586__ $$aToronto International Film Festival, 2005 001356206 586__ $$aVancouver International Film Festival, 2005 001356206 60010 $$aWihogora, Marie Claire. 001356206 650_0 $$aGenocide$$zRwanda. 001356206 651_0 $$aRwanda$$xHistory$$yCivil War, 1994$$vPersonal narratives. 001356206 655_7 $$aDocumentary films.$$2lcgft 001356206 7761_ $$cOriginal$$w(OCoLC)747798752 001356206 85640 $$uhttp://www.aspresolver.com/aspresolver.asp?CURV;1650558 001356206 901__ $$aASP1650558/curv$$bVaAlASP$$c7923$$tbiblio 001356206 905__ $$uadmin 001356206 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1356206$$pGLOBAL_SET 001356206 944__ $$a1785180 001356206 945__ $$aThe Whole World$$cChina 001356206 980__ $$aSTREAMING 001356206 980__ $$aBIB 001356206 982__ $$aStreaming Video 001356206 983__ $$aOnline
