When feudalism declined and trade developed in the 14th century, contact with new areas brought waves of epidemics. It is estimated that a quarter of the population died. In an effort to stem the epidemic, the Italian states isolated visitors for 40 days. "Quarantana" proved unsuccessful since it was actually the rodent population that was spreading the disease. The bubonic plague never really disappeared; in fact a kindergarten teacher died from it in 1980 in Lake Tahoe. 001356251 521__ $$aFor College; Adult audiences. 001356251 546__ $$aEnglish. 001356251 650_0 $$aBlack Death. 001356251 650_0 $$aCholera. 001356251 650_0 $$aEpidemics. 001356251 650_0 $$aPlague. 001356251 655_7 $$aDocumentary films.$$2lcgft 001356251 7102_ $$aFilm Australia (Organization) 001356251 85640 $$uhttp://www.aspresolver.com/aspresolver.asp?HLTH;1652571 001356251 901__ $$aASP1652571/hlth$$bVaAlASP$$c23461$$tbiblio 001356251 905__ $$uadmin 001356251 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1356251$$pGLOBAL_SET 001356251 944__ $$a1785232 001356251 945__ $$aNorth America 001356251 980__ $$aSTREAMING 001356251 980__ $$aBIB 001356251 982__ $$aStreaming Video 001356251 983__ $$aOnline
