Summary
Girltalk intimately portray the lives of three runaway girls from Boston. At age 14, Pinky is a truant. Childlike and jaded, she was deserted by her father and neglected by her mother. Out on the street since age 13, Mars works as a stripper. In search for the love she missed as a child, the nightclub employees becomes her surrogate family. Martha, 18, is pregnant. She has lived in over twenty foster homes and institutions. The film follows her through the birth of her child and shows how she copes with teenage motherhood. While these girls have been the victims of heartbreaking tragedy, they are capable of life-affirming resilience.
