As an application of Ricœurian methodology to a non-narrative film, the book calls into question the fundamental concept of the film world. Firmly rooted within the context of experimental cinema, Stan Brakhage's Dog Star Man was not created on the basis of a narrative structure and representation of characters, places and events, but on very different presuppositions. The techniques with which Brakhage worked on celluloid and used frames as canvases, as well as his choice to make the film without dialogue and sound, exhort the interpreter to directly question the philosophical language of moving images. 001359856 650_0 $$aPhenomenology. 001359856 650_0 $$aMotion pictures. 001359856 650_0 $$aHermeneutics. 001359856 655_0 $$aElectronic books 001359856 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783030124250 001359856 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783030124274 001359856 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783030124281 001359856 852__ $$bebk 001359856 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-12426-7$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001359856 887__ $$aB829.5.A-829.5.Z 001359856 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1359856$$pGLOBAL_SET 001359856 980__ $$aBIB 001359856 980__ $$aEBOOK 001359856 982__ $$aEbook 001359856 983__ $$aOnline 001359856 994__ $$a92$$bISE
