President Clinton recently directed the National Economic Council, in consultation with executive branch agencies, to analyze the economic implications of the Internet and electronic commerce domestically and internationally, and to consider new types of data collection and research that could be undertaken by public and private organizations. This book contains work presented at a conference held by executive branch agencies in May 1999 at the Department of Commerce. The goals of the conference were to assess current research on the digital economy, to engage the private sector in developing the research that informs investment and policy decisions, and to promote better understanding of the growth and socioeconomic implications of information technology and electronic commerce. Aspects of the digital economy addressed include macroeconomic assessment, organizational change, small business, access, market structure and competition, and employment and the workforce. 001387364 588__ $$aOCLC-licensed vendor bibliographic record. 001387364 650_0 $$aElectronic commerce$$vCongresses. 001387364 653__ $$aBUSINESS/Business Technology 001387364 653__ $$aINFORMATION SCIENCE/Technology & Policy 001387364 655_0 $$aElectronic books 001387364 7001_ $$aBrynjolfsson, Erik. 001387364 7001_ $$aKahin, Brian. 001387364 852__ $$bebk 001387364 85640 $$3MIT Press$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://doi.org/10.7551/mitpress/6986.001.0001?locatt=mode:legacy$$zOnline Access through The MIT Press Direct 001387364 85642 $$3OCLC metadata license agreement$$uhttp://www.oclc.org/content/dam/oclc/forms/terms/vbrl-201703.pdf 001387364 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1387364$$pGLOBAL_SET 001387364 980__ $$aBIB 001387364 980__ $$aEBOOK 001387364 982__ $$aEbook 001387364 983__ $$aOnline
