Patrick Cohrs argues that this order was not founded at Versailles but rather through the first 'real' peace settlements after World War I - the London reparations settlement of 1924 and the Locarno security pact of 1925. Crucially, both fostered Germany's integration into a fledgling transatlantic peace system, thus laying the only realistic foundations for European stability. What proved decisive was that key decision-makers drew lessons from the 'Great War' and Versailles' shortcomings. Yet Cohrs also re-appraises why they could not sustain the new order, master its gravest crisis - the Great Depression - and prevent Nazism's onslaught. Despite this ultimate failure, he concludes that the 'unfinished peace' of the 1920s prefigured the terms on which a more durable peace could be founded after 1945. 001389250 63007 $$aDawesplan.$$0(DE-588)4126284-0$$2gnd 001389250 63007 $$aLocarno-Verträge.$$0(DE-588)4168006-6$$2gnd 001389250 63007 $$aLocarno-Verträge.$$2swd 001389250 63007 $$aDawesplan.$$2swd 001389250 648_7 $$aGeschichte 1919-1929$$2swd 001389250 648_7 $$aGeschichte$$2swd 001389250 648_7 $$a1919-1932$$2fast 001389250 648_4 $$aGeschichte 1919-1929. 001389250 648_4 $$aGeschichte. 001389250 650_0 $$aWorld politics$$y1919-1932. 001389250 650_7 $$aWorld politics.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01181381 001389250 650_7 $$aDiplomatieke betrekkingen.$$2gtt 001389250 650_7 $$aVredesverdragen.$$2gtt 001389250 650_7 $$aVredesverdrag van Versailles (1919)$$2gtt 001389250 650_7 $$aConferentie van Locarno.$$2gtt 001389250 65007 $$aFriedenspolitik.$$0(DE-588)4155441-3$$2gnd 001389250 65007 $$aLondoner Konferenzen (1921)$$0(DE-588)4182567-6$$2gnd 001389250 65007 $$aFriedenspolitik.$$2swd 001389250 65007 $$aLondoner Konferenzen (1921)$$2swd 001389250 651_7 $$a4.$$2gtt 001389250 651_7 $$a7.150.$$2gtt 001389250 651_7 $$a4.240.$$2gtt 001389250 651_7 $$aEuropa.$$0(DE-588)4015701-5$$2gnd 001389250 651_7 $$aGroßbritannien.$$0(DE-588)4022153-2$$2gnd 001389250 651_7 $$aUSA.$$0(DE-588)4078704-7$$2gnd 001389250 651_7 $$aUSA.$$2swd 001389250 651_7 $$aEuropa.$$2swd 001389250 651_7 $$aGroßbritannien.$$2swd 001389250 852__ $$bgen 001389250 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1389250$$pGLOBAL_SET 001389250 980__ $$aBIB 001389250 980__ $$aBOOK 001389250 994__ $$aC0$$bISE
