The organization reaffirmed in June 2020 that “[we] cannot do good science without diverse voices,” and acknowledged that “right now the demographics of SIPS are unrepresentative of the field of psychology, which is in turn unrepresentative of the global population. We have work to do when it comes to better supporting Black scholars and other underrepresented minorities.” The purpose of the Global Engagement Task Force, started in January 2020, was to explore suggestions made after the 2019 Annual Conference, held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, around inclusion and access for scholars from regions outside of the United States, Canada, and Western Europe (described in the report as “geographically diverse” regions), a task complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic and civil unrest in several task force members’ countries of residence. This report outlines several suggestions, specifically around building partnerships with geographically diverse open science organizations; increasing SIPS presence at other, more local events; diversifying remote events; considering geographically diverse annual conference locations; improving membership and financial resources; and surveying open science practitioners from geographically diverse regions. 001416652 6531_ $$ainclusion 001416652 6531_ $$aglobal diversity 001416652 6531_ $$adiversity 001416652 6531_ $$aSIPS 001416652 6531_ $$aorganizational diversity 001416652 7001_ $$aSteltenpohl, Crystal N.$$uUniversity of Southern Indiana 001416652 7001_ $$aBasnight-Brown, Dana$$uUnited States International University 001416652 7001_ $$aDutra, Natalia Bezerra$$uFederal University of Rio Grande do Norte 001416652 7001_ $$aBelaus, Anabel$$uUniversidad Nacional de Córdoba 001416652 7001_ $$aKung, Chun-Chia$$uNational Cheng Kung University 001416652 7001_ $$aOnie, Sandersan$$uBlack Dog Institute 001416652 7001_ $$aSeernani, Divya Prakash$$uUniversity Medical Centre 001416652 7001_ $$aChen, Sau-Chin$$uTzu-Chi University 001416652 7001_ $$aBurin, DI$$uUniversidad de Buenos Aires 001416652 7001_ $$aDarda, Kohinoor Monish$$uUniversity of Glasgow 001416652 7001_ $$aLysander, James Montilla Doble$$uUniversity of the Philippines Diliman 001416652 773__ $$tCollabra: Psychology 001416652 789__ $$whttps://online.ucpress.edu/collabra/article/7/1/22968/116957/Society-for-the-Improvement-of-Psychological$$2URL$$eIsPartOf 001416652 789__ $$whttps://psyarxiv.com/4upqd/$$2URL$$eIsPartOf 001416652 8564_ $$yCollabra Version$$9302e571b-b3f4-4592-987a-f61e99f649fc$$s2628076$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1416652/files/collabra_2021_7_1_22968.pdf 001416652 8564_ $$yOfficial SIPS report$$9beb6c7c9-edb4-40ff-a945-63829a93be35$$s7467306$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1416652/files/Global%20Engagement%20Task%20Force%20Report-update_05-2021%20%282%29.pdf 001416652 904__ $$a2021-08-18T17:02:36Z$$baccessioned 001416652 904__ $$a2021-08-18T17:02:36Z$$bavailable 001416652 904__ $$a2021-3-6$$bissued 001416652 904__ $$a2021-08-18T17:02:36Z$$bdateFOA 001416652 905__ $$a/collection_2/21/dublin_core.xml 001416652 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1416652$$pGLOBAL_SET 001416652 980__ $$aMANUSCRIPT
