Relying predominantly on unpublished sources, it examines the relationship between European cultural agendas and local identity formation processes and discusses the social and religious transformations of Arab Christian communities in Palestine via cultural lenses from an entangled perspective. The 17 chapters reflect diverse research interests, from case studies of individual archives to chapters that question the concept of cultural diplomacy more generally. They illustrate the diversity of scholarship that enables a broad-based view of how cultural diplomacy functioned during the interwar period, but also the ways in which its meanings have changed. The book considers British Mandate Palestine as an internationalised node within a transnational framework to understand how the complexity of cultural interactions and agencies engaged to produce new modes of modernity. 001430923 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed February 23, 2021). 001430923 650_0 $$aCultural diplomacy$$zEurope$$xHistory$$y20th century. 001430923 650_0 $$aCultural diplomacy$$zPalestine$$xHistory$$y20th century. 001430923 650_0 $$aChristians$$zPalestine$$xHistory$$y20th century. 001430923 650_0 $$aPalestinian Arabs$$xHistory$$y20th century. 001430923 650_6 $$aDiplomatie culturelle$$zEurope$$xHistoire$$y20e siècle. 001430923 650_6 $$aDiplomatie culturelle$$zPalestine$$xHistoire$$y20e siècle. 001430923 650_6 $$aChrétiens$$zPalestine$$xHistoire$$y20e siècle. 001430923 650_6 $$aPalestiniens$$xHistoire$$y20e siècle. 001430923 651_0 $$aEurope$$xRelations$$zPalestine. 001430923 651_0 $$aPalestine$$xRelations$$zEurope. 001430923 651_6 $$aEurope$$xRelations$$zPalestine. 001430923 655_7 $$aHistory.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01411628 001430923 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001430923 7001_ $$aSanchez-Summerer, Karene,$$eeditor. 001430923 7001_ $$aZananiri, Sary,$$eeditor. 001430923 77608 $$iPrint version :$$z9783030555399 001430923 852__ $$bebk 001430923 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-55540-5$$zOnline Access$$91397441.2 001430923 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1430923$$pGLOBAL_SET 001430923 980__ $$aBIB 001430923 980__ $$aEBOOK 001430923 982__ $$aEbook 001430923 983__ $$aOnline 001430923 994__ $$a92$$bISE
