Innovation processes such as co-design and co-creation help establish collaborations that engage with stakeholders in a trustworthy and transparent environment while answering the need for new value propositions. The importance of an integrated, holistic approach is widely recognized to break down silos in local government, in particular, when aimed at achieving a better integration of climate-energy planning. Despite the ongoing urbanization and polarization processes, new synergies between urban and rural areas emerge, linking development opportunities to intrinsic cultural, natural and man-made landscape values. The increasing availability of big, real-time urban data and advanced ICT facilitates frequent assessment and continuous monitoring of performances, while allowing fine-tuning as needed. This is valid not only for individual projects but also on a wider scale. In addition, and circling back to the first point, (big) urban data and ICT can be of enormous help in facilitating engagement and co-creation by raising awareness and by providing insight into the local consequences of specific plans. However, this potential is not yet fully exploited in standard processes and procedures, which can therefore lack the agility and flexibility to keep up with the pulse of the city and dynamics of society. The book provides a multi-disciplinary outlook based on experience to orient the reader in the giant galaxy of smart and sustainable planning, support the transposition of research into practice, scale up visionary approaches and design groundbreaking planning policies and tools.--$$cProvided by publisher 001430962 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed March 18, 2021). 001430962 650_0 $$aCity planning$$xEnvironmental aspects$$vCongresses. 001430962 650_0 $$aRegional planning$$xEnvironmental aspects$$vCongresses. 001430962 650_0 $$aSustainable development$$vCongresses. 001430962 650_0 $$aUrban geography. 001430962 650_0 $$aEnvironmental policy. 001430962 650_0 $$aSociology. 001430962 650_0 $$aRegional economics. 001430962 650_0 $$aSpace in economics. 001430962 650_6 $$aAménagement du territoire$$xAspect de l'environnement$$vCongrès. 001430962 650_6 $$aDéveloppement durable$$vCongrès. 001430962 650_6 $$aGéographie urbaine. 001430962 650_6 $$aEnvironnement$$xPolitique gouvernementale. 001430962 650_6 $$aSociologie. 001430962 650_6 $$aÉconomie régionale. 001430962 650_6 $$aEspace (Économie politique) 001430962 655_7 $$aConference papers and proceedings.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01423772 001430962 655_7 $$aConference papers and proceedings.$$2lcgft 001430962 655_7 $$aActes de congrès.$$2rvmgf 001430962 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001430962 7001_ $$aBisello, Adriano,$$eeditor. 001430962 7001_ $$aVettorato, Daniele,$$eeditor. 001430962 7001_ $$aLudlow, David,$$eeditor. 001430962 7001_ $$aBaranzelli, Claudia,$$eeditor. 001430962 77608 $$iPrint version: $$z9783030577636 001430962 77608 $$iPrint version: $$z9783030577650 001430962 77608 $$iPrint version: $$z9783030577667 001430962 830_0 $$aGreen energy and technology,$$x1865-3529 001430962 852__ $$bebk 001430962 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-57764-3$$zOnline Access$$91397441.2 001430962 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1430962$$pGLOBAL_SET 001430962 980__ $$aBIB 001430962 980__ $$aEBOOK 001430962 982__ $$aEbook 001430962 983__ $$aOnline 001430962 994__ $$a92$$bISE
