It revolves around the following questions: What kinds of experiences have engendered national mobilization and feelings of national belonging? How have political and societal conflicts turned into new communities of experience and emotion? What kinds of experiences have been integrated into, or excluded from, the national context in different instances? How have people internalized or contested the nation as a context for their personal, family and minority-group experiences? In what ways has the nation entered and affected peoples intimate spheres of life? How have "national" experiences been transmitted to children in the renewal of the nation? This edited collection points to the histories of experience and emotions as a novel way of studying nations and nationalism. Building on current debates in nationalism studies, it offers a theoretical framework for analyzing the historical construction of "lived nations" and introduces a number of new methodological approaches to understand the experiences of the nation, extending from the investigation of personal reminiscences and music records to the study of dreams and childrens drawings 001431070 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001431070 650_0 $$aEmotions$$xHistory. 001431070 650_0 $$aSocial psychology$$zFinland$$xHistory. 001431070 650_6 $$aPsychologie sociale$$zFinlande$$xHistoire. 001431070 651_0 $$aFinland$$xHistory$$y1809-1917. 001431070 651_0 $$aFinland$$xHistory$$y20th century. 001431070 651_6 $$aFinlande$$xHistoire$$y1809-1917. 001431070 651_6 $$aFinlande$$xHistoire$$y20e siècle. 001431070 655_7 $$aHistory.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01411628 001431070 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001431070 7001_ $$aKivimäki, Ville,$$eeditor. 001431070 7001_ $$aSuodenjoki, Sami,$$eeditor. 001431070 7001_ $$aVahtikari, Tanja,$$eeditor. 001431070 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aKivimäki, Ville$$tLived Nation As the History of Experiences and Emotions in Finland, 1800-2000$$dCham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2021$$z9783030698812 001431070 830_0 $$aPalgrave studies in the history of experience. 001431070 852__ $$bebk 001431070 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-69882-9$$zOnline Access$$91397441.2 001431070 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1431070$$pGLOBAL_SET 001431070 980__ $$aBIB 001431070 980__ $$aEBOOK 001431070 982__ $$aEbook 001431070 983__ $$aOnline 001431070 994__ $$a92$$bISE
