How has institutionalization of religion influenced the prosperity of countries in Europe and the Americas? This open access book addresses these critical questions by elucidating the hegemonic and emancipatory religious factors leading to these dissimilarities between countries. The book features up-to-date mixed methods from interdisciplinary research contributing to existing studies in the sociology of religion field by demonstrating--for the first time--the effect of the mutually reinforcing configuration of multiple prosperity triggers (religion--politics--environment). It demonstrates the differences in the institutionalization of Roman Catholicism and Protestantism by applying quantitative and qualitative methods and by performing a qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) of 65 countries. The author also provides a comprehensive survey and results of empirical research on different theories of development, focusing on the influence of religion. 001431229 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001431229 650_0 $$aEconomics$$xReligious aspects$$xCatholic Church. 001431229 650_0 $$aEconomics$$xReligious aspects$$xProtestant churches. 001431229 650_0 $$aPolitical corruption$$vCross-cultural studies. 001431229 650_0 $$aCompetition$$vCross-cultural studies. 001431229 650_0 $$aReligion and politics$$vCross-cultural studies. 001431229 650_6 $$aÉconomie politique$$xAspect religieux$$xÉglise catholique. 001431229 650_6 $$aÉconomie politique$$xAspect religieux$$xÉglises protestantes. 001431229 650_6 $$aCorruption (Politique)$$vÉtudes transculturelles. 001431229 650_6 $$aReligion et politique$$vÉtudes transculturelles. 001431229 655_7 $$aCross-cultural studies.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01423769 001431229 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001431229 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aGarcía Portilla, Jason$$tYe Shall Know Them by Their Fruits$$dCham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2022$$z9783030784973 001431229 830_0 $$aContributions to economics. 001431229 852__ $$bebk 001431229 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-78498-0$$zOnline Access$$91397441.2 001431229 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1431229$$pGLOBAL_SET 001431229 980__ $$aBIB 001431229 980__ $$aEBOOK 001431229 982__ $$aEbook 001431229 983__ $$aOnline 001431229 994__ $$a92$$bISE
