As the first collection of testimonies and efforts to acknowledge the Holocaust contributed to historical research, judicial processes, public discussion, and commemorations in the universalistic Swedish welfare state, the chapters show the challenges and opportunities that were faced in addressing the traumatic experiences of a minority. In Sweden, the Jewish trauma could be linked to positive rescue actions instead of disturbing politics of collaboration, suggesting that the Holocaust memory was less controversial than in several European nations following the war. This book seeks to understand how and in what ways the memory of the Holocaust began to take shape in the developing Swedish welfare state and emphasises the role of transnational Jewish networks for the developing Holocaust memory in Sweden. 001432734 647_7 $$aJewish Holocaust$$d(1939-1945)$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst00958866 001432734 650_0 $$aHolocaust, Jewish (1939-1945)$$zSweden. 001432734 650_0 $$aJews$$zSweden$$xHistory$$y20th century. 001432734 650_6 $$aHolocauste, 1939-1945$$zSuède. 001432734 650_6 $$aJuifs$$zSuède$$xHistoire$$y20e siècle. 001432734 655_7 $$aHistory.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01411628 001432734 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001432734 7001_ $$aHeuman, Johannes. 001432734 7001_ $$aRudberg, Pontus. 001432734 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z3030555313$$z9783030555313$$w(OCoLC)1163963135 001432734 830_0 $$aHolocaust and its contexts. 001432734 852__ $$bebk 001432734 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-55532-0$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001432734 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1432734$$pGLOBAL_SET 001432734 980__ $$aBIB 001432734 980__ $$aEBOOK 001432734 982__ $$aEbook 001432734 983__ $$aOnline 001432734 994__ $$a92$$bISE
