The book is divided into two sections Displacements and Disruptions. The first section discusses the ramifications of the spatial displacements of bodies, organizations, groups of people and ethnicities, and explores how artists, theorists and arts organizations have an attentive history of revealing and reacting to the displacement of peoples and how their presence or absence radically reconfigures the value, identity, and uses of place. In the second section, each author considers how aesthetic strategies have been utilized to disrupt expected spatial experiences and logic. Many of these strategies form radical alternative methodologies that include transgressions, geographies of resistance, and psychogeographies. These spatial performances of disruption set into motion a critical exchange between the subject, space and materiality, in which ideology and experience are both produced/spatialized and deconstructed/destabilized. 001432899 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed February 23, 2021). 001432899 650_0 $$aArts$$xPolitical aspects. 001432899 650_0 $$aPolitics in art. 001432899 650_6 $$aArts$$xAspect politique. 001432899 650_6 $$aPolitique dans l'art. 001432899 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001432899 7001_ $$aBlair, Gregory,$$eeditor. 001432899 7001_ $$aBronstein, Noa,$$eeditor. 001432899 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783030553883 001432899 852__ $$bebk 001432899 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-55389-0$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001432899 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1432899$$pGLOBAL_SET 001432899 980__ $$aBIB 001432899 980__ $$aEBOOK 001432899 982__ $$aEbook 001432899 983__ $$aOnline 001432899 994__ $$a92$$bISE
