Populism has gone global, with populist parties gaining considerable ground, particularly in the last decade: populists are now in government in almost every part of the globe. In so doing, this book not only takes stock of the previous work on populism, but also builds upon it to further deepen our understanding of the phenomenon and take research forward. The authors explore different facets of the most recent manifestations of populism, trying to engage in new avenues as suggested by recent and authoritative academic work. The approach is comparative and multi-dimensional, with a cross-regional focus on Western Europe and the USA. The 12 contributions gathered in this book address a wide spectrum of aspects, many of which are largely understudied. Marie Gayte is an Associate Professor of US Studies at the University of Toulon, France. In 2018 she co-edited Catholic and US Politics after the 2016 Election: Understanding the Swing Vote, also with Palgrave Macmillan. Karine Tournier-Sol is an Associate Professor of British politics at the University of Toulon, France. With Chris Gifford, she co-edited The UK Challenge to Europeanization: The Persistence of British Euroscepticism (Palgrave, 2015). Her most recent book is Prendre le large : le UKIP et le choix du Brexit (2017). 001433589 588__ $$aDescription based on CIP data; resource not viewed. 001433589 650_0 $$aPopulism$$zEurope. 001433589 650_0 $$aPopulism$$zUnited States. 001433589 650_6 $$aPopulisme$$zEurope. 001433589 650_6 $$aPopulisme$$zÉtats-Unis. 001433589 651_0 $$aEurope$$xPolitics and government$$y21st century$$xCitizen participation. 001433589 651_0 $$aUnited States$$xPolitics and government$$y21st century$$xCitizen participation. 001433589 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001433589 7001_ $$aTournier-Sol, Karine,$$d1973-$$eeditor. 001433589 7001_ $$aGayte, Marie,$$eeditor. 001433589 77608 $$iPrint version :$$z9783030538880 001433589 852__ $$bebk 001433589 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-53889-7$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001433589 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1433589$$pGLOBAL_SET 001433589 980__ $$aBIB 001433589 980__ $$aEBOOK 001433589 982__ $$aEbook 001433589 983__ $$aOnline 001433589 994__ $$a92$$bISE
