The authors identify that this is not as easy as the endeavor to bring two social systems together with contradicting logic (family and business) leads to many dangerous pitfalls. This book presents outcomes of a unique research project in which family managers of eleven of the oldest and largest German family businesses, at least the fourth generation, met for more than three years on a regular basis and presented the essence of their family governance structures to each other and to the authors. It was a joint "learning journey" that admits identifying twelve core questions that these families had been answering to keep up the relationship between family and business successfully over generations. Obviously, there is no "right" answer to these questions. The key to success is rather engaging the families in a process to find out their own answers and make them aware of the "two sides": being a family is different from being a business family 001433934 650_0 $$aFamily-owned business enterprises. 001433934 650_0 $$aPsychology, Industrial. 001433934 650_0 $$aDomestic relations. 001433934 650_0 $$aCommercial law. 001433934 650_6 $$aEntreprises familiales. 001433934 650_6 $$aPsychologie du travail. 001433934 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001433934 7001_ $$aRüsen, Tom A.$$eauthor. 001433934 7001_ $$aGroth, Torsten,$$eauthor. 001433934 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z3030601994 001433934 830_0 $$aManagement for professionals,$$x2192-8096 001433934 852__ $$bebk 001433934 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-60200-0$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001433934 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1433934$$pGLOBAL_SET 001433934 980__ $$aBIB 001433934 980__ $$aEBOOK 001433934 982__ $$aEbook 001433934 983__ $$aOnline 001433934 994__ $$a92$$bISE
