This book is a cross-cultural survey that explores the crime preventive effects of corporate cultures and compliance management systems (CMS) in China, India, Russia and Germany. Almost 2,000 managers anonymously reported about the compliance programs in place and cultures in their companies as well as on their experience with corruption at work and in everyday life. Despite differences across countries, results suggest that the elements of an integrity-promoting corporate culture are similarly important in their corruption preventive effects. The second major result is that a CMS can develop its effectiveness only when combined with an appropriately practiced integrity-promoting company culture. Third, companies can counteract the negative external influences of a corruption-prone national culture. Moreover, spill-over effects of an integrity-promoting company culture can make an important contribution to national cultural change. For this reason, an integrity-promoting corporate culture is a contribution to corporate social responsibility. 001436051 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed April 27, 2021). 001436051 650_0 $$aCorporations$$xCorrupt practices. 001436051 650_0 $$aCorporate culture. 001436051 650_0 $$aBusiness ethics. 001436051 650_6 $$aSociétés$$xPratiques déloyales. 001436051 650_6 $$aCulture d'entreprise. 001436051 650_6 $$aMorale des affaires. 001436051 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001436051 7001_ $$aOelrich, Sebastian,$$eauthor. 001436051 7001_ $$aSchroth, Andreas,$$eauthor. 001436051 7001_ $$aSelzer, Nicole,$$eauthor. 001436051 830_0 $$aSpringerBriefs in business,$$x2191-5482 001436051 852__ $$bebk 001436051 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-72151-0$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001436051 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1436051$$pGLOBAL_SET 001436051 980__ $$aBIB 001436051 980__ $$aEBOOK 001436051 982__ $$aEbook 001436051 983__ $$aOnline 001436051 994__ $$a92$$bISE
