Those aspects bring in a substantial degree of uncertainty in system operation. Also, impact factors, such as weather factors, are critical in agricultural systems but these factors are uncontrollable in system management. Modern agriculture has been evolving through precision agriculture beginning in the late 1980s and biotechnological innovations in the early 2000s. Precision agriculture implements site-specific crop production management by integrating agricultural mechanization and information technology in geographic information system (GIS), global navigation satellite system (GNSS), and remote sensing. Now, precision agriculture is set to evolve into smart agriculture with advanced systematization, informatization, intelligence and automation. From precision agriculture to smart agriculture, there is a substantial amount of specific control and communication problems that have been investigated and will continue to be studied. In this book, the core ideas and methods from control problems in agricultural production systems are extracted, and a system view of agricultural production is formulated for the analysis and design of management strategies to control and optimize agricultural production systems while exploiting the intrinsic feedback information-exchanging mechanisms. On this basis, the theoretical framework of agricultural cybernetics is established to predict and control the behavior of agricultural production systems through control theory."--Publisher's website 001439025 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from resource home page (EBSCOhost, viewed February 14, 2021). 001439025 650_0 $$aAgriculture$$xAutomation. 001439025 650_0 $$aCybernetics. 001439025 650_6 $$aAgriculture$$xAutomatisation. 001439025 650_6 $$aCybernétique. 001439025 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001439025 7001_ $$aZhang, Qin,$$d1956-$$eauthor. 001439025 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aAgricultural cybernetics.$$z3030721019$$z9783030721015$$w(OCoLC)1240305310 001439025 830_0 $$aAgriculture automation and control. 001439025 852__ $$bebk 001439025 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-72102-2$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001439025 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1439025$$pGLOBAL_SET 001439025 980__ $$aBIB 001439025 980__ $$aEBOOK 001439025 982__ $$aEbook 001439025 983__ $$aOnline 001439025 994__ $$a92$$bISE
