Solutions are needed to meet the demand of the citizens of a renewed metropolitan region landscape. It opens up discussions about possible toolkits for strategic actions based on understanding the territory from geographical, urban, architectural, economic, environmental, and public policy perspectives. This book intends to promote the Metropolitan dwelling quality, ensuring human well-being proposing a discussion on the resilient articulation of the interface space among the city's infrastructure, agriculture, and nature. This book results from the Symposium: Metropolitan Landscapes that MSLab of the Politecnico di Milano and ETSA (Sevilla) organized at the IALE 2019 Conference (Milan, July 2019) to manage radical territory transformation with a strategic vision. The widespread growth of urban areas indicates the importance of building resilient sustainable cities capable of minimizing climate-change impact production. The Symposium aimed to discuss the Urban Metabolism approach considering the combination of Landscapes set in a single Metropolitan Ecosystem. Accordingly, new design strategies of transformation, replacement or maintenance can compose Urban-Rural Linkage patterns and a decalage of different landscape contexts. Ecological interest in environmental sustainability, compatibility, and resilience is not tied exclusively to the balance between production and energy consumption. Thus, it is the integration over time and at several scales of the urban and rural landscapes and their inhabitants that nourish the Metropolitan Bioregion. Moreover, the Metropolitan Landscape Book's research hypothesis is the need for a Glossary, strengthening the basis of understanding Metropolitan Landscape's complexity. This book's topic is particularly relevant to Landscape Urbanism, Architecture, Urban disciplines Scholars, Students and Practitioners who want to be connected in a significant way with Metropolitan Disciplines research field. 001439153 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed September 9, 2021). 001439153 650_0 $$aUrban ecological design$$vCongresses. 001439153 650_0 $$aUrban policy$$vCongresses. 001439153 650_0 $$aCity planning$$vCongresses. 001439153 650_6 $$aPolitique urbaine$$vCongrès. 001439153 655_7 $$aConference papers and proceedings.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01423772 001439153 655_7 $$aConference papers and proceedings.$$2lcgft 001439153 655_7 $$aActes de congrès.$$2rvmgf 001439153 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001439153 7001_ $$aContin, Antonella,$$eeditor. 001439153 7102_ $$aInternational Association of Landscape Ecology.$$bConference$$d(2019 :$$cMilan, Italy) 001439153 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z303074423X$$z9783030744236$$w(OCoLC)1242465375 001439153 830_0 $$aLandscape series (Springer (Firm)) ;$$vv. 28. 001439153 852__ $$bebk 001439153 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-74424-3$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001439153 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1439153$$pGLOBAL_SET 001439153 980__ $$aBIB 001439153 980__ $$aEBOOK 001439153 982__ $$aEbook 001439153 983__ $$aOnline 001439153 994__ $$a92$$bISE
