Various understandings of time manifest themselves in the context of many individual social problemsthere is no single vision in sociology of how to grasp time and address within social theory. This book, therefore, attempts to define an approach to the concept of time and its associated terms (duration, temporality, acceleration, compression, temporal structures, change, historical consciousness, and others). The volume is guided by a critical engagement with three main questions: a) the formation of human understanding of time; b) the functioning of temporal structures at different levels of social reality; c) the role and place of time in general sociological theory. Jiri Subrt is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Charles University in Czechia. He is the author and editor of several books which mainly deal with the theme of contemporary sociological theory, particularly with regard to issues of action, structure, social systems and social change. His latest books in English are: The Perspective of Historical Sociology (2017), Individualism, Holism and Central Idea of Sociological Theory (2019), The Systemic Approach in Sociology and Niklas Luhmann (2020), Explaining Social Processes (2020). 001440592 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001440592 650_0 $$aTime$$xSociological aspects. 001440592 650_6 $$aTemps$$xAspect sociologique. 001440592 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001440592 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aŠubrt, Jiří, 1958-$$tSociology of time.$$dBasingstoke : Palgrave Macmillan, 2021$$z9783030832889$$w(OCoLC)1264404790 001440592 852__ $$bebk 001440592 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-83289-6$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001440592 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1440592$$pGLOBAL_SET 001440592 980__ $$aBIB 001440592 980__ $$aEBOOK 001440592 982__ $$aEbook 001440592 983__ $$aOnline 001440592 994__ $$a92$$bISE
