The work identifies conditions that allow the re-composition of a class of housing dispossessed and, consequently, the features of its action in urban spaces. The book offers fresh analytical perspectives to understanding contemporary urban transformation via new spatial and strategic approaches. In striking detail, Carlotta Caciagli shows how space is a crucial variable in shaping the strategies that allow for the politicisation of a movements social base. She illustrates how new spatial configurations of urban space result from unique struggles of the recomposed collective subject. Most notably, three main conceptual tools are introduced to disentangle the relationship between the recomposed precarious class and space: the spatial opportunity structure, configurations of strategies and educational sites of resistance. Carlotta Caciagli is a Research Fellow in sociology at the department of Urban Studies, Polytechnic of Milan (Italy). 001441389 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001441389 650_0 $$aHousing$$xPolitical aspects$$zItaly$$zRome. 001441389 650_0 $$aSocial movements$$zItaly$$zRome. 001441389 650_6 $$aMouvements sociaux$$zItalie$$zRome. 001441389 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001441389 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9789811627385 001441389 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9811627371$$z9789811627378$$w(OCoLC)1247671879 001441389 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aCACIAGLI, CARLOTTA.$$tHOUSING MOVEMENTS IN ROME.$$d[S.l.] : PALGRAVE MACMILLAN, 2021$$z9811627371$$w(OCoLC)1247671879 001441389 830_0 $$aAlternatives and futures. 001441389 852__ $$bebk 001441389 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-981-16-2738-5$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001441389 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1441389$$pGLOBAL_SET 001441389 980__ $$aBIB 001441389 980__ $$aEBOOK 001441389 982__ $$aEbook 001441389 983__ $$aOnline 001441389 994__ $$a92$$bISE
