Scholars recently have brought about a shift in their focus regarding triggering factors for landslides, from rainfall or earthquake to claiming rapid urbanization, extreme population pressure, improper land use planning, illegal hill cutting for settlements and indiscriminate deforestation. This suggests that the occurrence or probabilities of landslides are shaped by both climate-related and non-climate-related anthropogenic factors. Among these issues, land use and land cover change or improper land use planning is one of the key factors. Further climate change shapes the rainfall pattern and intensity in different parts of the world, and consequently rainfall-triggered landslides have increased. These changes cause socio-economic changes. Conversely, socio-economic and lifestyle changes enhance inappropriate land use and climate change. All these changes in land use, climate and socio-economic aspects are dynamics in nature and shape landslide risks in Asian countries, where they are given serious attention by governments, disaster management professionals, researchers and academicians. This book comprises 21 chapters divided into three major sections highlighting the effect of climate change on landslide incidence with the influence on vegetation and socio-economic aspects. The sections address how climate change and extreme events have triggered landslides. The advances in geospatial techniques with the focus on land use and land cover change along with the effect on socio-economic aspects are also explored. 001443414 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed January 20, 2022). 001443414 650_0 $$aLandslides$$zAsia. 001443414 650_0 $$aLandslide hazard analysis$$zAsia. 001443414 650_0 $$aHazard mitigation$$zAsia. 001443414 650_0 $$aClimatic changes$$zAsia. 001443414 650_6 $$aCatastrophes$$xRéduction$$zAsie. 001443414 650_6 $$aClimat$$xChangements$$zAsie. 001443414 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001443414 7001_ $$aSarkar, Raju,$$eeditor. 001443414 7001_ $$aShaw, Rajib,$$eeditor. 001443414 7001_ $$aPradhan, Biswajeet,$$eeditor. 001443414 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9811673136$$z9789811673139$$w(OCoLC)1269094946 001443414 830_0 $$aDisaster risk reduction. 001443414 852__ $$bebk 001443414 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-981-16-7314-6$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001443414 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1443414$$pGLOBAL_SET 001443414 980__ $$aBIB 001443414 980__ $$aEBOOK 001443414 982__ $$aEbook 001443414 983__ $$aOnline 001443414 994__ $$a92$$bISE
