It takes a broader view on lifelong learning and active ageing from a theoretical/conceptual base written by prominent international authors- this represents the outside in perspective. The inside out on the other hand signifies an in-depth investigation of initiatives written by authors from Taiwan who are closely involved with developments in policy and practice. The volume is situated theoretically in the intersection of complementary concepts such as lifelong learning, active ageing, later life learning, learning communities and social movements. It is located geographically and culturally in East Asia where senior learning/education is expanding in response to large populations of older adults and concerns about their physical and social well-being. It is argued that Taiwan is leading the way in terms of innovation and community engagement in regard to older adult learning/education and can thus serve as a model for neighboring countries. By analyzing historical precedents, cultural dynamics, policy trends, research sub-fields and community engagement this book is of interest to both East Asian and Western scholars, practitioners, policy-makers and students amongst the fields of lifelong learning, social gerontology and educational psychology. 001445350 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001445350 650_0 $$aOlder people$$xEducation$$zTaiwan. 001445350 650_0 $$aAdult education$$zTaiwan. 001445350 650_0 $$aContinuing education$$zTaiwan. 001445350 650_0 $$aAdult education and state$$zTaiwan. 001445350 650_6 $$aPersonnes âgées$$xÉducation$$zTaiwan. 001445350 650_6 $$aÉducation des adultes$$zTaiwan. 001445350 650_6 $$aÉducation permanente$$zTaiwan. 001445350 650_6 $$aÉducation des adultes$$xPolitique gouvernementale$$zTaiwan. 001445350 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001445350 7001_ $$aFindsen, Brian,$$eeditor. 001445350 7001_ $$aWei, Hui-Chuan,$$eeditor. 001445350 7001_ $$aLi, Ai-tzu,$$eeditor. 001445350 77608 $$iPrint version:$$tTaiwan's senior learning movement.$$dCham : Springer, 2022$$z9783030935665$$w(OCoLC)1295128340 001445350 830_0 $$aLifelong learning book series ;$$vv. 28. 001445350 852__ $$bebk 001445350 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-93567-2$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001445350 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1445350$$pGLOBAL_SET 001445350 980__ $$aBIB 001445350 980__ $$aEBOOK 001445350 982__ $$aEbook 001445350 983__ $$aOnline 001445350 994__ $$a92$$bISE
