This entanglement is investigated in the different contributions through theoretical and empirical analyses of heritage-led resistance to neoliberal economic development, violation of the subaltern, authorised narratives and state-invented traditions, colonialism and settler colonialism, and even dominating discourses of social movement, to name just a few. Crossing the disciplinary boundaries of heritage and resistance studies, these analyses bring new insights into several timely debates, especially those concerned with the interrelated critical questions of displacement, gentrification, exclusion, marginalization, urbicide, spatial cleansing, dehumanization, alienation, ethnic cleansing and social injustice. Following our purposeful and future-driven approach, we wish to bring new energy to the field of heritage studies through the focus on the potential of heritage and resistance for hopeful change rather than adding to the field yet another overwhelming engagement with conflict and war. 001446378 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001446378 650_0 $$aCultural property. 001446378 650_0 $$aNonviolence. 001446378 650_0 $$aSocial conflict. 001446378 650_0 $$aSocial justice. 001446378 650_0 $$aImperialism. 001446378 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001446378 7001_ $$aHammami, Feras,$$d1978-$$eeditor.$$1https://isni.org/isni/0000000496248931 001446378 7001_ $$aUzer, Evren,$$eeditor.$$1https://isni.org/isni/0000000496248966 001446378 77608 $$iPrint version:$$tTheorizing heritage through non-violent resistance.$$dBasingstoke : Palgrave Macmillan, 2021$$z9783030777074$$w(OCoLC)1285706284 001446378 830_0 $$aPalgrave studies in cultural heritage and conflict. 001446378 852__ $$bebk 001446378 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-77708-1$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001446378 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1446378$$pGLOBAL_SET 001446378 980__ $$aBIB 001446378 980__ $$aEBOOK 001446378 982__ $$aEbook 001446378 983__ $$aOnline 001446378 994__ $$a92$$bISE
