It presents the revolutionaries' distinct view on human rights and the rights of the peoples, as well as their philosophical underpinnings. After discussing how contemporary legal history and theory, and political philosophy approached the revolutionary period, the book tackles the main topics covered during the debates and proposals. Starting with the issue of external relations and the sovereignty of the people and ending with natural rights and Republicanism, this book shows how apparently technical questions (such as what procedure should be implemented to declare a war) are intertwined with philosophical reflections on rights and with problems that were urgent at the time. Eduardo Baker is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has also worked as an international human rights lawyer for the past ten years in regional and universal human rights protection systems. 001447959 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed July 5, 2022). 001447959 61010 $$aFrance.$$tConstitution (1793) 001447959 647_7 $$aRevolution$$c(France :$$d1789-1799)$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01354514 001447959 650_0 $$aHuman rights$$zFrance$$xHistory$$y18th century. 001447959 650_0 $$aConstitutional law$$zFrance$$xHistory$$y18th century. 001447959 651_0 $$aFrance$$xHistory$$yRevolution, 1789-1799. 001447959 655_7 $$aHistory.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01411628 001447959 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001447959 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aBaker, Eduardo$$tHuman Rights and Humanity's Rights During Year Three of the French Revolution$$dCham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2022$$z9783030995072 001447959 852__ $$bebk 001447959 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-99508-9$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001447959 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1447959$$pGLOBAL_SET 001447959 980__ $$aBIB 001447959 980__ $$aEBOOK 001447959 982__ $$aEbook 001447959 983__ $$aOnline 001447959 994__ $$a92$$bISE
