The transition involved a shift from a socialist system to a parliamentary democracy and from a command economy to a market one. Due to the deep economic crisis that culminated in 1988 and the peaceful model of change developed and implemented in Poland, the magnitude and manner of implementing various initiatives was unprecedented and had specific implications. This transformation opened Polish society and the Polish economy to the impact of global social and economic changes, triggering successive transformations, often overlapping in terms of their causes and consequences. This publication aims to present the course and effects, in particular territorial, of Poland's socio-economic transformation in the years 19902020. The analysis covers the key aspects of this transformation, illustrated with references to the concepts and theories of development, domestic and foreign literature, own empirical research and existing or newly developed model approaches to transformation in the territorial dimension. The book appeals to researchers and student in the fields of geography, spatial management, economics and business, sociology and political sciences, public and private economic research institutes, employees of governmental bodies and corporations, consultants in public administration, journalists and policymakers. 001449450 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001449450 651_0 $$aPoland$$xEconomic conditions$$y1990- 001449450 651_0 $$aPoland$$xSocial conditions$$y1989- 001449450 651_0 $$aPoland$$xPolitics and government$$y1989- 001449450 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001449450 7001_ $$aChurski, Paweł,$$d1967-$$eeditor.$$1https://isni.org/isni/0000000114609691 001449450 7001_ $$aKaczmarek, Tomasz,$$eeditor.$$1https://isni.org/isni/0000000120532619 001449450 77608 $$iPrint version:$$tThree decades of Polish socio-economic transformations.$$dCham : Springer, 2022$$z9783031061073$$w(OCoLC)1338667937 001449450 830_0 $$aEconomic geography (Cham, Switzerland) 001449450 852__ $$bebk 001449450 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-031-06108-0$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001449450 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1449450$$pGLOBAL_SET 001449450 980__ $$aBIB 001449450 980__ $$aEBOOK 001449450 982__ $$aEbook 001449450 983__ $$aOnline 001449450 994__ $$a92$$bISE
