It provides a new understanding of the role played by the French missionaries in the most peripheral and less populated area of Canada during the colonial period. The decision to focus on this period is dictated by the need to investigate how and to which extent the French missionaries sought to carry out their activity within a contested territory which was exposed to the pressures coming out of both French and British imperial interests. Matteo Binasco is Adjunct Professor at the Foreigners' University of Siena, Italy. He is also principal investigator in the project I+D+I en el marco del Programa Operativo FEDER Andalucia 2014-2020 at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Seville. His previous monograph with Palgrave Macmillan, Making, Breaking and Remaking the Irish Missionary Network: Ireland, Rome and the West Indies in the Seventeenth Century, was published in 2020. 001450495 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001450495 650_0 $$aMissions, French$$zAcadia$$xHistory$$y17th century. 001450495 650_0 $$aMissions, French$$zAcadia$$xHistory$$y18th century. 001450495 650_0 $$aMissions, French$$zNova Scotia$$xHistory$$y17th century. 001450495 650_0 $$aMissions, French$$zNova Scotia$$xHistory$$y18th century. 001450495 655_7 $$aHistory.$$2fast$$0(OCoLC)fst01411628 001450495 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001450495 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aBinasco, Matteo, 1975- author.$$tFrench missionaries in Acadia/Nova Scotia, 1654-1755$$z9783031105029$$w(OCoLC)1346947295 001450495 830_0 $$aChristianities in the trans-Atlantic world,$$x2634-5846 001450495 852__ $$bebk 001450495 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-031-10503-6$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001450495 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1450495$$pGLOBAL_SET 001450495 980__ $$aBIB 001450495 980__ $$aEBOOK 001450495 982__ $$aEbook 001450495 983__ $$aOnline 001450495 994__ $$a92$$bISE
