Taking a sociological approach, the author deals with children as social agents rather than learners and considers structures of interaction which encourage and support agency, rather than teaching. The book draws from field research conducted over more than twenty years in a variety of Italian and international contexts. This book is unique in providing a theoretical reflection on the social structures that can support childrens agency, as well as a large amount of examples which show how these structures and agency work. Claudio Baraldi is Professor of Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes in the Department of Studies on Language and Culture at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. His research concerns communication systems, especially intercultural and interlinguistic communication and adult-children interactions in educational contexts. He has co-authored, edited and co-edited eight books for international publishers, and published more than 60 chapters and articles in international volumes and journals. 001450747 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 001450747 650_0 $$aCritical pedagogy. 001450747 650_0 $$aEducational sociology. 001450747 650_0 $$aChildren's rights. 001450747 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001450747 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783031099786 001450747 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z303109977X$$z9783031099779$$w(OCoLC)1322811519 001450747 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aBARALDI, CLAUDIO.$$tFACILITATING CHILDREN'S AGENCY IN THE INTERACTION.$$d[S.l.] : PALGRAVE MACMILLAN, 2022$$z303109977X$$w(OCoLC)1322811519 001450747 830_0 $$aStudies in childhood and youth. 001450747 852__ $$bebk 001450747 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-031-09978-6$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001450747 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1450747$$pGLOBAL_SET 001450747 980__ $$aBIB 001450747 980__ $$aEBOOK 001450747 982__ $$aEbook 001450747 983__ $$aOnline 001450747 994__ $$a92$$bISE
