Drawn from a diverse group of researchers and professionals, the work presented explores contemporary conceptualisations of art crime within broader contexts. In this volume, we see art in its usual forms for art crime scholarship: in paintings and antiquities. However, we also see art in fossils and in violins, chairs and jewellery, holes in the ground and even in the institutions meant to protect any, or all, of the above. And where there is art, there is crime. Chapters in this volume, alternatively, zoom in on specific objects, on specific locations, and on specific institutions, considering how each interact with the various conceptions of crime that exist in those contexts. This volume challenges the boundaries of what we understand as "art and heritage crimes" and displays that both art, and criminality related to art, is creative and unpredictable. 001453363 588__ $$aDescription based upon print version of record. 001453363 650_0 $$aArt thefts. 001453363 650_0 $$aArt thefts$$xLaw and legislation. 001453363 650_0 $$aArt thefts$$xSocial aspects. 001453363 650_0 $$aArchaeological thefts. 001453363 650_0 $$aCultural property$$xProtection (International law) 001453363 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001453363 7001_ $$aOosterman, Naomi,$$eeditor. 001453363 7001_ $$aYates, Donna,$$eeditor. 001453363 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aOosterman, Naomi$$tArt Crime in Context$$dCham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2022$$z9783031140839 001453363 830_0 $$aStudies in art, heritage, law and the market ;$$vv. 6. 001453363 852__ $$bebk 001453363 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-031-14084-6$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001453363 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1453363$$pGLOBAL_SET 001453363 980__ $$aBIB 001453363 980__ $$aEBOOK 001453363 982__ $$aEbook 001453363 983__ $$aOnline 001453363 994__ $$a92$$bISE
