In view of growing conflicts over strategic georesources, the use of the geological subsurface in the sense of a regional resource is becoming increasingly important. In this context, georeservoirs are playing an important role for the energy transition not only as a source of energy but also as a storage facility and deep geological disposal for energy waste. The success of the energy transition also depends to a large extent on the efficient and safe use of underground resources. This book complements the previous basic book (GeomInt -- Integrity of Host Rocks) with a series of application examples in different rock formations, clay, salt, and crystalline. The methodology developed in GeomInt is used, among others, in the Mont Terri underground research laboratory (Opalinus Clay), in the large borehole test in Springen (salt rock) and in the "Reiche Zeche" teaching and research mine (crystalline rock). In addition, new methodological developments are also taken up in experiments and models and embedded in workflows for geotechnical system analyses. The present book summarizes the results of the collaborative project "GeomInt2: Geomechanical integrity of host and barrier rocks - experiment, modeling and analysis of discontinuities" within the program: Geo Research for Sustainability (GEO: N) of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). 001467581 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed May 11, 2023). 001467581 650_0 $$aGeotechnical engineering. 001467581 650_0 $$aGeoinformatics. 001467581 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001467581 7001_ $$aKolditz, Olaf,$$eeditor.$$0(orcid)0000-0002-8098-4905$$1https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8098-4905 001467581 7001_ $$aYoshioka, Keita,$$eeditor.$$0(orcid)0000-0001-7518-6952$$1https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7518-6952 001467581 7001_ $$aCajuhi, Tuanny,$$eeditor.$$0(orcid)0000-0002-0609-7291$$1https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0609-7291 001467581 7001_ $$aGünther, Ralf-Michael,$$eeditor. 001467581 7001_ $$aSteeb, Holger,$$eeditor.$$0(orcid)0000-0001-7602-4920$$1https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7602-4920 001467581 7001_ $$aWuttke, Frank,$$eeditor.$$1https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5599-778X 001467581 7001_ $$aNagel, Thomas,$$eeditor.$$0(orcid)0000-0001-8459-4616$$1https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8459-4616 001467581 77608 $$iPrint version: $$z3031264924$$z9783031264924$$w(OCoLC)1363102697 001467581 830_0 $$aSpringerBriefs in earth system sciences,$$x2191-5903 001467581 852__ $$bebk 001467581 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-031-26493-1$$zOnline Access$$91397441.2 001467581 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1467581$$pGLOBAL_SET 001467581 980__ $$aBIB 001467581 980__ $$aEBOOK 001467581 982__ $$aEbook 001467581 983__ $$aOnline 001467581 994__ $$a92$$bISE
