The essays consider the ways in which twenty-first-century women writers look back and respond to their predecessors within the field of contemporary womens writing. The book looks back to the foundations of contemporary womens writing and also considers how this category may be defined in future decades. We ask how writers and readers have interpreted the contemporary, a moving target and an often-contentious term, especially in light of feminist theory and criticism of the late twentieth century. Writing about the relationships between womens writings is an always-vital, ongoing political project with a rich history. These essays argue that establishing and defining the contemporary is, for women writers, another ongoing political project to which this collection of essays aims, in part, to contribute. 001471582 588__ $$aDescription based on online resource; title from digital title page (viewed on July 25, 2023). 001471582 650_0 $$aLiterature$$xWomen authors$$xHistory and criticism. 001471582 650_0 $$aLiterature, Modern$$y20th century$$xHistory and criticism. 001471582 650_0 $$aLiterature, Modern$$y21st century$$xHistory and criticism. 001471582 650_0 $$aContemporary, The, in literature. 001471582 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001471582 7001_ $$aWisker, Gina,$$d1951-$$editor. 001471582 7001_ $$aBibby, Leanne,$$eeditor. 001471582 7001_ $$aYeandle, Heidi,$$eeditor. 001471582 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aWisker, Gina$$tLegacies and Lifespans in Contemporary Women's Writing$$dCham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2023$$z9783031280924 001471582 77608 $$iPrint version:$$tLEGACIES AND LIFESPANS IN CONTEMPORARY WOMEN'S WRITING.$$d[S.l.] : PALGRAVE MACMILLAN, 2023$$z303128092X$$w(OCoLC)1369597194 001471582 830_0 $$aPalgrave studies in contemporary women's writing. 001471582 852__ $$bebk 001471582 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-031-28093-1$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001471582 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1471582$$pGLOBAL_SET 001471582 980__ $$aBIB 001471582 980__ $$aEBOOK 001471582 982__ $$aEbook 001471582 983__ $$aOnline 001471582 994__ $$a92$$bISE
