Combining their expertise in economics and sociology, the authors outline a theoretically and methodologically cohesive approach that puts the valuation of cinema right into the middle of global value chain research. It challenges the ways in which the interdisciplinary pursuit of cultural economics has approached cultural value, presenting a thorough analytic inquiry into who produces the value and who seeks rent in the value chain. While offering a fresh approach to cinema and media economics, the book highlights the significant way of nonprofit actor incorporation into value chains and value networks. Ann Vogel is a sociologist who received her Ph.D. from the University of Washington, USA, and a science-management degree from the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer, Germany. Her most recent work is Cinema and the Festivalization of Capitalism: The Experience-Makers (2023). In her current position she advances research in police and administrative sciences. Alan Shipman is a Senior Lecturer in Economics. He studied Economics at the University of Cambridge, UK, and the University of Oxford, UK, working at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research and as a financial analyst and business journalist before joining the Open University, UK. His most recent monograph is Wynne Godley: A Biography (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019). 001482670 588__ $$aDescription based on online resource; title from digital title page (viewed on November 06, 2023). 001482670 650_6 $$aFestivals de cinéma. 001482670 650_6 $$aFestivals de cinéma$$xAspect économique. 001482670 650_6 $$aCinéma$$xIndustrie$$xAspect économique. 001482670 650_0 $$aFilm festivals. 001482670 650_0 $$aFilm festivals$$xEconomic aspects. 001482670 650_0 $$aMotion picture industry$$xEconomic aspects.$$0(DLC)sh 85002012 001482670 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001482670 7001_ $$aShipman, Alan,$$d1966-$$eauthor. 001482670 77608 $$iebook version :$$z9783031335013 001482670 77608 $$iPrint version: $$z3031335007$$z9783031335006$$w(OCoLC)1376771468 001482670 852__ $$bebk 001482670 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-031-33501-3$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001482670 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1482670$$pGLOBAL_SET 001482670 980__ $$aBIB 001482670 980__ $$aEBOOK 001482670 982__ $$aEbook 001482670 983__ $$aOnline 001482670 994__ $$a92$$bISE
