It positions its arguments through emerging anthropocene contexts as entanglements across hybrid ecologies that unravel. The subsumed relationships between actors and the unprecedented interactions across the human and non-human entities brings up unique problematics. The book depends on existing literature, ethnographic work, and the close introspection of immediate geographies interspersed with the pertinent debates. Reconfiguration of relationships through changing orders and regimes towards the neo-liberal global moments of places manifest as matters of designs and demarcations. The chapters point at the often-unintended outcomes of such designs as it becomes evident from the meandering rivers, rains, wetlands, unprecedented floods, invasive ecologies, and 'encounters' with the wild. This work is a careful enquiry into ecologies in the making through ethnographies from Kerala, South-West India. Mathew A Varghese is Assistant Professor at the School of International Relations and Politics (SIRP) at the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India. Varghese's research interests are in ecological relationships, animal-human interactions and urban processes. Previously a fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Varghese is affiliated as a researcher with Urban Enclaving Futures, Bergen and the Algorithmic Governance Research Network, Oslo. He is also the Hon. Director of the Centre for Urban Studies (CUS) at the M G University. 001484692 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed December 12, 2023). 001484692 650_6 $$aÉcologie humaine. 001484692 650_6 $$aÊtres humains$$xInfluence de l'environnement. 001484692 650_6 $$aÊtres humains$$xInfluence sur la nature. 001484692 650_0 $$aHuman ecology. 001484692 650_0 $$aHuman beings$$xEffect of environment on.$$xEffect of human beings on$$0(DLC)sh2007004712 001484692 650_0 $$aNature$$xEffect of human beings on.$$xEssence, genius, nature$$0(DLC)sh 85025230 001484692 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 001484692 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z3031465172$$z9783031465178$$w(OCoLC)1396975919 001484692 852__ $$bebk 001484692 85640 $$3Springer Nature$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-031-46518-5$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 001484692 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1484692$$pGLOBAL_SET 001484692 980__ $$aBIB 001484692 980__ $$aEBOOK 001484692 982__ $$aEbook 001484692 983__ $$aOnline 001484692 994__ $$a92$$bISE
