Abstract
American Striictiircpoint was given architectural plans by Aclvancecl Engineering Consultants to design the
interior and exterior structure, geotechnical, hydrologic, and civil site design for the Camp Atterbury Barracks. Camp
Atterbury is an Army National Guard base that can be found in Edinburgh. Indiana approximately 45 minutes South
of Indianapolis. The three-story, 100,000 square feet, baiTacks will serve as living quarters for soldiers stationed at
this location. Utilizing architectural building plans provided; the structure, concrete foundations, and site drainage for
the barracks were designed. From the Cit}- of Indianapolis Storm Water Design and Construction Specifications
Manual, International Building Code (IBC 2009), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC 14"' edition), and
American Concrete Institute (ACl 318-10) the following components were designed with hand calculations and
verified by Microsoft Excel, RISA, RAM, and Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Sewer Analysis:
• Loading scenarios
• Roof decking
• Steel girders, joists, columns
• Masonry Shear Walls
• Pipes, channels, detention basin, inlets, culverts
