St. Mary's Hospital at what was formerly 1113 First Ave. This is the second location for the hospital; the hospital as an organization began in 1872, this location opened in 1894. An addition was added in 1922 and a nurses' home in 1947. On March 10, 1956, the hospital moved to its current east side location--all in one day. The location seen here was razed, with the exception of the addition, in 1960. The addition now houses medical offices, and a Hacienda restaurant is on the site of the hospital. This is postcard 5331.
