Description

Lincoln School/High School at 635 Lincoln Ave. was built/opened in 1928 to serve the education needs of the African-American community. At the time it was the largest such school in the city and incorporated 3 previous schools--Oakdale, Clark St., and Governor St. In 1962 the high school closed and the school became K-8. Since 1985 it has been an (unsegregated) elementary school. The front of this postcard has a 24 after the location. It is postcard 32161N.
