"Dade Park racetrack was located just south of Evansville, between the Kentucky state line and the Ohio River.* After a track and grandstand were completed in 1922, gambling and other illicit activity ensued; the river bottoms were physically isolated fromKentucky and out of jurisdiction for Indiana police.
