Description

"Evansville's wharf was busy at all times." The bulk of boat traffic along the Ohio River would soon give way to the railroad. The Mead Johnson River-Rail-Truck Terminal (now the Port of Evansville) was built around 1930, and the continuous flow of barge traffic still emphasizes the importance of the city's riverfront. (Engler, Joe. Evansville. (Postcard History Series) Charleston, SC: Arcadia Publishing, 2012, p. 89) This is postcard 2104 and it was made in Germany.
