Description
Reitz High School FFA sign, along with a sign proclaiming, "We are the Lincoln Puppetteers. This is likely associated with the Ohio River Arts Festival. This is next to the old post office at 200 NW 2nd St. It was built 1873-1879. Abandoned by the federal government in 1969, it was acquired by the city in 1977 and currently holds a catering/event venue. Across the street is the Courier and Press newspaper building at 201 NW 2nd St. To its right is the Vanderburgh County Courthouse (building with cupola) at 201 NW 4th St., completed in 1890. The building still stands, but is now referred to as the old courthouse, as government offices moved into another building in 1969.
