Advertisement, worded thus-- "Schroeder Headlight & Generator Company Evansville Indiana U.S.A. America's Foremost Headlight Builders for 30 years New York ?0 Church St. Chicago 20 E. Jackson Blvd. St. Louis 214 N. 6th St." This company, located at 225 W. Morgan Ave., near the corner with Read St., was found in the 1904 city directory. In 1918 it became Sunbeam Electric, and some 20 years later, the building was expanded. By the 1950s the company had merged with Whirlpool and in 1985 the building was destroyed by fire.
