Description

Postcard of Little Sisters of the Poor at 1236 Lincoln Ave., built in 1882 and funded by John Augustus Reitz as a memorial for daughter Mary Louise who died in 1886. The structure seen here was razed in the early 1970s and replaced by a more modern facility. The facility was also known as St. John's Home for the Aged. In 2013 Little Sisters of the Poor sold the facility to another health-care provider, and today University Nursing and Rehabilitation operates in the successor facility to the one shown here.
