This is the second location of St. Mary's Hospital at the corner of First Ave. and Columbia St. It moved into this new construction in 1894. The hospital had its origins in the 1872 Daughters of Charity purchase and renovation of the 1856 Marine Hospital on Ohio St. In 1956 St. Mary's moved to its current location at 3700 Washington Ave. It is now called St. Vincent's. The location shown here was razed in 1960; the original location on Ohio St. was razed in 1912.
