The 1882 city directory has Sonntag at 109 Main St. and 1897/1900 at 209 Upper 4th St. When it was at First and Sycamore is unknown. The 1882 directory gives the Lawton address as 431 Main. By 1904 only the Straub hardware store remained. According to the Historic Evansville website, Fred. P. Straub & Co, was in business 1860-1940, at the Main St. address given here until 1941-1942, when the address was given as 109 Main St.. This cannot be verified, but if true, that would be the address given in 1882 for the Sonntag hardware business.
