Postcard of Bayard Park, Evansville, Ind. Samuel Bayard was a prominent banker in Evansvillle. After his death, his widow donated 10 acres to form this park, named in his honor. It is bounded by Bayard Park Dr. and E. Powell Ave. (north and south) and S. Bedford Ave. and S. Kentucky Ave. (west and east). Professionals built their homes around it, largely 1901-1915. One of Evansville's 2 Carnegie libraries is adjacent to the park.
