Description

Oral history interview of Robert Fields. Robert E. Fields was working with International Harvester in Ft. Wayne, IN 1940-1942 and then worked with Consolidated in San Diego, CA, on the night shift. He had a phone call from his parents that Republic Aviation was building a plant in Evansville. The plant wasn't yet ready, so he first went to the Farmingdale, NY branch of Republic, only for some 6 months. After coming home he was sent to Detroit to serve as the Evansville Republic's liaison at Heidrich Tool and Die. He may have also worked at the Evansville Republic plant.
