Oral history interview of Noble Ellison. Noble G. Ellison enlisted in WWII (1939, stayed until 1961) in the Army Air Corps, with his highest rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was with the 8th Air Force 41st Reconnaissance Squadron for training, and then with the 12th Air Force in North Africa and the 20th Air Force in the Pacific. He saw action in both the European and Pacific Theaters, in the North Atlantic and North Africa. He was at the bombing of Japan. He was a crew chief, general mechanic, supervisor, and superintendent on flight lines. He was the staff engineer on the B-25 and B-29, and a side gunner on the B-24. He was awarded a Bronze Star.
