Oral history interview of Scott Thompson. Scott Thompson was drafted into WWII (1943-1945) in the Army, 106th Infantry Division, 423rd Regiment, Company F. He was a corporal and acted as assistant squad leader, rifleman, and clerk typist. He saw action in the European Theater, in Ardennes and the Rhineland. From December 18, 1944 until April 1945 he was a prisoner of war at Stalag 4B in East Germany. He was hungry all the time, losing 40 pounds during his incarceration.
