Oral history interview of John Tucker. John H. Tucker enlisted in WWII (1945-1946) in the Navy, serving aboard the USS Remey DD-688 as a Petty Officer Third (3rd) Class. He saw action in the Pacific Theater, in Japan and Alaska. He received a Victory Medal and 3 bronze stars on a bar. He was present at the first bombardment of Japan. He sustained some hearing loss as the result of his service.
