Oral history interview of James Bruce. James Reilly Bruce enlisted in WWII (1944-1946) in the Marines and served as a Corporal. He was in HQ, company A, 27th Regiment, 5th Marine Division, working in communications in the Soputh Pacific (Hawaii and Iowa Jima). He was top in his class in boot camp and earled a Purple Heart. His work involved installing telephones, switchboards, and electrical lines.
