Oral history interview of Virgil Springer. Virgil E. Springer enlisted in WWII (c. 1943-1967) in the Navy, with his highest rank as Lieutenant. He saw action in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Casablanca, USS Commencement Bay, and USS Chemung. He saw action in the Pacific Theater. In the Korean War era he was aboard the USS Urban, USS Skywatcher, and USS Philippine Sea. He served at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was awarded 11 medals including the American Theater, Asian Pacific, China Service, Good Conduct, American Victory, Japanese Occupation, Korean Services United Nations (twice), and Pistol and Rifle.
